Introduction
The Join by ID feature allows you to easily connect to Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, or facetime meetings directly from your video endpoint. Instead of needing a pre-configured dial string, you can simply enter the meeting ID from your invitation and join instantly.
This provides flexibility and convenience — especially when you want to join ad-hoc meetings or use endpoints that do not have direct calendar integration.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to find the meeting ID in your invitation and enter it correctly using your endpoint’s touch panel. This feature is fully supported on Cisco endpoints and may also work with other endpoints that support DTMF input fields.
NOTICE: This feature is primarily useful if your video conferencing device does not have calendar integration. You still need to have a video meeting booked for that meeting room.
How To Use
Cisco devices with macro enabled
After waking your Video Conferencing Device you will see a menu with different buttons on. Those buttons could be Join Teams, Zoom, or Google meeting. By clicking on them you will be able to enter the meeting ID you received in the meeting invitation. For example, below is an example of a Google Meet invitation:
Unfortunately you cannot copy and paste the code — in this example: ugs-zuju-qyh — so write it down somewhere an manually type it into the input field that appears after pressing the Join Google Meeting button (see Picture 1).
The same applies for Zoom: put the meeting ID from the invitation into the input field to join directly.
For Microsoft Teams meetings, the meeting ID is also included in the invite. If you don’t see it immediately, open the event in your calendar and double-click it to view the full invitation. Enter the Id into input field to join.
Other SIP Devices
On some other devices the same buttons could be there but look different. The process is still the same as previously, but the icons and text may differ.
